Women's Christmas:
From Weariness to Rest
Saturday, January 3, 2026
9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
St Scholastica Monastery
There are twelve days of the Christmas season.
...times of planning and preparing precede these days
...times of gathering and feasting fill these days.
Now it is time to acknowledge our joy-filled weariness, and to rest. Come for the day (or add a night of rest overnight), ‘rest awhile’ and celebrate an old Irish tradition that is gaining popularity: Women’s Christmas.
It is a time to leave home and hearth, release holiday responsibilities, and spend time together as women who often hold the world together...our families and neighborhoods, our communities and nation, the earth and our world.
We will feast on Women’s Wisdoms…
Listen in story circles…
Develop a creative project… and
Dine on food someone else lovingly prepared.
