Sacred Listening Circle

Meets once per month (September - May)

 St. Scholastica Monastery

The Sacred Listening Circle is a small group of women that meets one time per month to listen contemplatively to one another with compassion and care. It is a safe place of confidentiality, respecting each person’s unique life story and spiritual journey. We read and discuss a book related to faith, which is selected by the group. We share stories, exploring together the questions that come up for us in the living our lives.

If this group sounds like something you would like to be involved in, or if you need more information, please call Dawn Carrillo, Director of the Center for Spirituality and Enrichment, at 320-260-8233.

Facilitators:

As a life coach, Sr. Jayne Erickson partners with people to help them identify their passions and goals, look at their strengths, and utilize their skills to reach greater fulfillment in life.  Sr. Jayne has been privileged to walk alongside people on their life journeys, serving families as Youth/Children’s Minister as well as Elementary School Educator.  She is trained as a life coach through Leadership and Life Coach Training for Women in Faith-Based Ministries, a program accredited by the ICF (International Coaching Federation).

Marilyn Mayry is a retired Language Arts teacher and holds a master's degree in community and school counseling.  Marilyn completed the Shalom spiritual direction program and has been part of the oblate program with the Benedictine Sisters at St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth, MN.  She  attended United Theological Seminary in the Twin Cities with an interest in art and spirituality.  Over the years she has created many performances with artists and community members, focusing on sharing the stories of those who are often underrepresented.

Currently Marilyn is facilitating a variety of discussion groups at the Center for Spirituality and Enrichment, Peace Church, Mount St. Benedict Monastery of Erie, and the Center for Christogenesis, each with the intention of creating space for spiritual companionship and growth through hearing and telling stories, raising questions, sharing wisdom, and listening with the ear of the heart.

Suggested offering is $100 for the year.
