Advent Retreat: "Navigating Conspiracies, Compliances, and Complexities with the Prophet Isaiah"

Tuesday, November 29, 2022

7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. CT via Zoom

With polarizing trends testing our nation more and more, and ardent moralisms on both conservative and liberal ends of the spectrum, the need for solace and insight is greater than ever. In the midst of social and political challenges, Isaiah engaged his 8th century Judean society which also needed a grounding word of hope. He presented four baby boys that symbolized God's redemptive involvement in real history. This workshop will use texts from Isaiah 7-9 as a springboard to consider how we can navigate today's world with better perspective taking and better skills for civil discourse.

Facilitator: Ted Lewis is a Restorative Justice Consultant and Trainer for the Center for Restorative Justice & Peacemaking at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
